He introduced the idea of "previsualization", which involved the photographer imagining what he wanted his final print to look like before he even took the shot. Of course, there are many great photos which were taken impromptu. However, for landscape photographers, being able to previsualize the scene before going there will greatly reduce the chance of being caught unprepared and will greatly increase the chance of getting better shots.Photographers use various tools to help them pre-visualizing the scene. Nowadays, many of those tools are phone apps. Planit Pro is an all-in-one solution that is designed to leverage the map and simulated viewfinder technologies to provide the necessary tools for photographers to pre-visualize the scene in combination with the ground subjects and the celestial objects such as the Sun, the Moon, Stars, Star-trails and Milky Way.In the Planit Pro app, we packed it with features - from location scouting such as GPS coordinates, elevations, distance, elevation gain, clear view, focal length, depth of field (DoF), hyperfocal distance, panorama and aerial photography, to the Ephemeris features such as the sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset time and direction, twilight time, special hours of the day, sun/moon finder, major stars, constellations, nebulae azimuth and elevation angle, star trail planning, time-lapse calculation and simulation, sequence calculation and simulation, milky way searching, solar eclipse and lunar eclipse, exposure/ND filter calculator, light meter, rainbow position prediction, tide height and tide search etc. All the information are either represented on the map as an overlay or visually presented in simulated viewfinders (VR, AR, picture, or street view), just like you look through your cameras viewfinder. We understand sometimes there wont be any network connection when you are out exploring. Planit Pro was designed for have it in mind. If you preload the offline elevation files and the offline mbtiles maps, you can use the app fully offline without the need for network connections.Automatically adjust the target height when the scene pin is snapped to a marker with height. If you change the target height to be different from the marker height, we will remember the height and use it next time when you pin the scene location to the marker. Added a badge to the non-default options button to indicate how many non-default options were set. Fixed the paid feature was not restored correctly for some users in the last release.

After using it for 2 years im updating my review.. size of moon and sun pointer is small ui is confusing.. moon tracker wont work properly
Exceptional and well thought out app. So many pertinent features to photographers and astrophotographers. Can be daunting or overwhelming when first opened but the video tutorials are well done with excellent examples. I previously was using photopills, but plan it takes it to a whole new level. The viewfinder features are critical to planning that perfect shot and finding the exact date to make it work.
I have been using this app for about a year now. The developer is easy to communicate with and responsive to questions. I use the streetview option for planning milkyway shots in advance of my trips. It is amazing. I recommend the Mike Shaw tutorials for helping learn the app.

The app keeps crashing on start up
Crashes after moving to SD card.
First, the developer is very responsive and that is terrific. BUT...I have just discovered that the 29 plans that I have on my cellphone can't be easily transferred to a new tablet with the app installed. Enormously disappointed in this limitation, but I understand that a sync process is in the works. Until then, 5 stars reduced to 3.
Whilst I used to love this app the latest update just crashes every time I open it. Despite sending in crash reports I've not had a response from the authors. If it is stable for you it's great. Otherwise it's not sadly a waste of time.
This was my favorite and most relied upon app for recording my photo locations.Over the past years I would have given it 5+ stars. The most recent edition has made this app much worse and unusable. I hope they will revert to the past format. My past Plans have all been erased and I cannot retrieve them. I am using the android edition if this makes any difference.
